On the beach, on a rooftop garden, or with a city view—many people seek something beyond the ordinary when visiting a café. But trust us, they haven’t yet discovered the ultimate alternative coffee spot.

Galaria Platamona is not just any café—it’s built on the other side of a tunnel, and as you approach it, you feel like you’re stepping into a magical world.
Its name comes from the Platamon Tunnel, which was constructed in 1915 as part of the Athens-Thessaloniki railway line.

Gallaria: The Café in Greece You Can Only Enter Through a Real Tunnel
The railway line operated until 2003, when it was abandoned. In 2021, the tunnel was renovated and transformed into a cafĂ© named “Gallaria.”
It’s a modern café with a stunning sea view. Besides enjoying your coffee, you can take a stroll along the old railway line, which has now been converted into a pedestrian walkway. You can also visit the nearby Platamon Castle, adding a touch of history to your outing.
